Effects on genital organs: The flavonoid-rich component obtained from the seed of Vitex negundo seedlings was injected intraperitoneally at 10 mg/kg to the prepubertal male dog for 30 days or given to an adult healthy male dog for 60 days, and then administered orally with propionic acid every other day. The testis lacks sperm. The contents of protein, sialic acid and RNA in the testis and epididymis were significantly reduced, reflecting a decrease in androgen activity; and testosterone cholesterol and phosphatase activity were increased, and castration caused a reduction in the volume and weight of the epididymis. Treatment with flavonoids can cause highly decreased epididymal cells. Combining flavonoids with testosterone propionate maintains sperm motility in prepubertal rats and healthy adult rats, normalizes the physiological function of the epididymis, and significantly increases epididymal cell height. Isolated from 5,7,3'-trihydroxy-6,8,4'-trimethoxy-flavonoids 10 mg/kg intraperitoneally for 45 days, the wet weight of the testes and epididymis in dogs was reduced, and the seminiferous tubules at the epididymal cell level were isolated. The decrease in diameter and curvature suggests its sensitivity to androgen-dependent structures. Lack of sperm production does not affect metabolism and libido. The drug had no significant effect on the morphology and function of dog interstitial cells. 5,7,3'-trihydroxy-6,8,4'-trimethoxyflavone has estrogenic activity. In the 3d uterine affinity test, 60 mg/kg and 120 mg/kg doses increased the wet weight of the uterus, but the estrogen-like effects were very weak compared to 17β-estradiol. It also inhibits the uterus action of 17β-estradiol. 4.
