The main components in the volatile oil are d-Sabinene, d-Carene, 1,4-Cineol, d-terpineol (d- Terpineol), l-Cadinene. It also contains Cubebinolide. Chen Jiupin contains Cubeben camphor. Mountain chicken pepper fruit contains volatile oil, fatty oil. The main volatile oils are Citral, Methylheptenone, and a small amount of Limonene and Linalool.
