What are the components of the pipe jacking machine?
The pipe jacking machine consists of at least two parts. One is the pipe cutting machine cutting tool pipe (the front part of the pipe jacking machine), and the second is the pipe jacking machine's shield tail. Both parts are usually cylindrical pipes and are connected to each other by hinges. In this case, the cutting tool tube is supported on the tail of the shield by the pilot cylinder. Its role is to control the jacking direction and provide space for containing crushing tools (cutters, excavators, etc.), and also as a crushing space for rock and soil.
Some of the pipe jacking machines also consist of three parts. The second part is called the middle tool pipe (middle of the pipe jacking machine) and the third part is called the shield tail, which is the transition part between the pipe jacking machine and the jacking pipe. For larger diameter jacking machines, the pipe next to the jacking machine can also be used as a follow-up part of the jacking machine in order to accommodate the required construction machinery.
