Microsoft launches smart watch to suppress Apple market
Microsoft launched its smart watch on Thursday to crack down on Apple's market during key holiday seasons. Microsoft-branded smart watches have been rummaging for months before, and the company announced on Wednesday that Microsoft watches can be ordered at a price of 9. The listing of Microsoft Watch will be applicable to the current three major smartphone platforms, including Apple's iOS, Google's Android and Microsoft's Windows Phone. This makes the device very different than other smart phone manufacturers' wearable devices. In addition to being a timepiece, Microsoft Watch will provide health-related features such as 24-hour heart monitoring, GPS measurement of distance and number of steps, calorie counting and sleep monitoring. The application of Microsoft Watch will also show the user's own sleep curve, and the watch will also measure UV radiation.
Due to the features of Microsoft, it also makes it different from some limited-function sports watches. Microsoft Watch allows users to view stock quotes, view preview emails and calendar events, and access Twitter, Facebook and SMS. The watch can also make mobile payments at Starbucks. The Windows Phone version of the watch will have Microsoft Voice Assistant, which can be used to set appointment reminders and voice commands.
