Tips on the Selection of Modified Plastics Additives
It looks like very simple to design the plastic formula, but the internal containing are tightly related to each other. In order to design a formula with the characters of high performance, easy processing and low غير مجاز مي باشدt, there are many factors need considering during the selection of additives. We hereby put forward the following aspects for reference:
1.Select the Additives According to the Purpose
Select the appropriate additives according to the purpose and the effect need achieving.The additives should be able to give full play to its expected effect, and achieve the specified index. Specified index in general means a certain product`s national standards, international standards, or the performance requirements required by customers.
The selection range of additives is as follows:
Toughening - Elastomers, thermoplastic elastomers and rigid toughening materials.
Enhance - Glass fiber, carbon fiber, whisker and organic fiber.
Flame retardant - Bromine (general bromine and environmental protection), phosphorus, nitrogen, nitrogen / phosphorus compound expansion flame retardant, three oxide two antimony, hydrated metal hydroxide.
Antistatic -- All kinds of antistatic agent.(Could be used in PE,LLDPE and other kind of stretch wrapping film)
Conductive-- Carbon (carbon black, graphite, carbon fiber, carbon nanotubes), metal fiber and metal powder, metal oxide.
Magnetic -- Magnetic ferrite, rare earth magnetic powder includes a samarium cobalt class (SmCo5 or Sm2Co17), neodymium iron boron type (NdFeB), samarium iron nitrogen (SmFeN), aluminum nickel cobalt powder three categories.
Heat conductive -- metal fibers and metal powders, metal oxide, nitride and carbide; carbon materials such as carbon black, carbon fiber, graphite and carbon nanotubes; semiconductor materials such as silicon, boron.
Heat resistant -- glass fiber, inorganic filler, heat resistant agent such as substituted maleimide amine and beta crystal nucleating agent.
Transparent -- Nucleating agent for PP alpha crystal form of Sorbitol Nucleating Agent. Millad series 3988 is the best.
abrasion resistant--Graphite and MoS2 and copper powder, etc..
Insulation --Calcined kaolin.
Barrier--Mica, montmorillonite, quartz, etc.
2.The Effect of Additives on the Resin is selective
Red phosphorus flame retardant is effective to PA, PBT, PET; Nitrogen flame retardant is effective to oxygen containing resin, such as PA, PBT, PET etc.; Nucleating agents is effective to polypropylene; glass fiber thermal modification is quite effective to crystalline plastic but not effective to the amorphous plastic effect; Filling carbon black conductive plastics is effective to crystalline resin.
