【Source】 The medicine is a dried rhizome of the ginger family Kaempferia galangaL. Digging in winter, washing, removing fibrous roots, slicing, and drying.
[Source form] Perennial herb, rhizome massive, solitary or clustered, pale green, aromatic; roots emerge from rhizomes, stout, numerous. The leaves are usually two, relatively borne, almost sessile, prostrate, spreading horizontally, thin, round or broadly ovate. From August to September, flowering from the two leaves, Spike flowers, 4 to 12 flowers, white, morning and afternoon, aromatic, flower tube slender. The fruit is a capsule.
【Properties】 This product is mostly round or nearly circular cross-section, diameter 1 ~ 2cm, thickness 0.3 ~ 0.5cm. The skin is light brown or yellow-brown, shrinking, and some have root marks or residual fibrous roots; the cut surface is white, powdery, and often bulging. Brittle and easy to break. Gas incense specific, spicy taste.
[Identification] (1) This product is yellowish white. There are numerous starch grains, the main ones are single-grained, round, elliptical or triangular-like, mostly flat, with a diameter of 5-30μm, and the umbilical point and stratification are not obvious. The oil cells are round or oval in shape, with a diameter of 40-130 μm, and the walls are thin. The cells contain light yellow-green or light-purple oil droplets. Threaded catheter diameter 18 ~ 37μm. Pigments are irregularly shaped, yellow or yellow-brown. (2) take this product powder 0.25g, add methanol 5ml, ultrasonic treatment for 10 minutes, filtered, the filtrate as a test solution.
